HazelLoop helps UK crochet makers turn a pattern’s quantities into a shopping list. You bring the pattern and choose the yarn. We calculate whole balls, packs and the cost from your inputs.

Our methods

The planner adds your selected allowance to the pattern length, subtracts usable stash, rounds up to whole balls and then whole packs, separately for each yarn and colour. One yard converts to 0.9144 metres. Delivery is added once per shop that has something to buy. Blank costs remain unknown.

The offer comparison uses the same yarns and requirements on both sides. It adds the pack prices and delivery you enter. It does not select mixed-colour bundles or apply automatic promotions. The leftover converter uses the original label’s length-to-weight ratio. The colour explorer illustrates equal splits, which may not match a real pattern. The square planner scales your measured sample weight to the entered grid and adds only the finishing length you supply.

Where the data comes from

We keep a small catalogue of specifications checked against manufacturer or brand retailer pages. Every yarn reference links to its source and states when we checked it. Presets are editable: always compare them with the label you have.

Our editorial approach

AI assists drafting and development. We check numerical examples and use automated tests for calculation behaviour. We do not claim to have physically made or tested the example projects or to have reviewed how a yarn feels. Guides explain arithmetic and buying decisions. Yarn substitutions and garment fit need suitable pattern instructions and swatches.
